Studies on the Allelic Rate of Deleterious Genes Isolated from Second Chromosomes in the Ulsan and Anyarg Natural Population of Drcsophila melanogaster

Abstract
The frequency of second chromosomes bearing deleterious genes in the Ulsan and Anyang natural populations of Drosophila. melanogaster was estimated by using of Cy/Pm method.
1. Allelic rates between lethal genes extracted from natural populations were about 2.98% for the Ulsan and 2.18% for the Anyang populations from 1974 to 1978.
As a rule, the data for Ulsan population was higher than those of the Anyang.
The elimination rate caused by lethals was estimated to be 0.01297 for the Ulsan and 0.00380 for the Anyang population from 1974 to 1978. As a rule, the data for the Ulsan population was higher than those of the Anyang. The higherst value of allelic rates between lethals in all Ulsan natural populations was detected, and it was said to be smaller in size compared to any other populations.
2. The low frequency of lethal genes and high frequency of allelic rates between lethals in Korean populations of Drosophila melanogaster from 1974 to 1978 were detected; and it was said to be smaller in size compared to American and Japanese populations.
