Baycuten^(¢ç) Clinical Trial for Common Skin Diseases

Abstract
|
|
|
Baycuten¢ç is a newly introduced hydrophilic cream containing dexamethasone (0.04%) , neomycin (0.5%), and clotrimazole (1%).
This trial was to assess the efficacy of this remedy in several common dermatoses, i.e., contact dermatitis, superficial fungal infection, atopic dermatitis, impetigo contagiosa and seborrheic dermatitis.
The results were as follows,
1. Of total 90 patients, 72(80%) showed clinical effectiveness and among the effective responders, 45 (50%) showed "cure" and 27(30%) showed "improvement" and the remaining 18(20%) showed "ineffectiveness."
2. It was within 2 weeks when the clinical symptoms or signs of improvement observed.
3. The adverse reaction during the clinical trial was only burning sensation observed in 4 patients.
4. There was no symptomatic aggravation during the trial.
