The Effect of Mucoril in the Treatment of Lower Back Pain




Abstract
100 patients who have lower back pain were studied to evaluate the effect of Mucoril (thiocolchicoside), a centrally acting muscle relaxant which was derived from colchicoside.
Mucoril was administrated in 3 divided doses of 24 mg daily for 2 weeks by orally and. 8 mg daily for 2 weeks by .intramuscularly.
For evaluating the effectiveness of Mucoril treatment, we used 4 kinds of subjective symptoms and. 4 kinds, of objective symptoms of patient as parameters which were. divided by 5 grades.
CBC, LFT and urinalysis were checked for the safety of Mucoril, both before and after treatment. Mucoril might have a good effect on the treatment of acute and chronic back pain and degenerative spondylitis because of few side effects.
