Clinical Study on the Effects of Azlocillin Sodium (ALOCIN^(¢ç)) in Neurosurgical Patients

Abstract
|
|
|
The clinical study on the effect of Ailocillin Sodium on prophylactic and therapeutic use has been performed in 20 patients in Department of Neurosurgery of CNUH. Azlocillin is a semisynthetic acylureido-penicillin with bactericidal effect to a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
The results: of the study were as follows
1. 16-18 gm of Azlocillin Sodium in a day, was administered intravenously for 3-14 days.
2. In prophylactic use, the efficacy of Azlocillin Sodium was 100% (10/10).
3. In therapeutic use, the efficacy of Azlocillin Sodium was 90% (9/10).
4. There was no significant systemic or local complication after Azlocillin Sodium therapy.
