The efficacy, safety and tolerability were evaluated in pediatric patients treated with Azithromycin dry syrup. Azithromycin dry syrup was administered by 10mg/kg/day for 3 day consecutively in pediatric patients with acute otitis media, pharyngitis, tonsilitis, and pneumoia. 20 patients were valuable at day 3-5 and 10-12 after the start of treatment. At day 3-5 after treatment 85% of patients were clinically cured or improved and 15% were failed. At day 10-12 after treatment 90% of patients were clinically cured or improved and 10% were failed. Adverse events, generally mild, were reported in 10% of the patients whom complained of gastrointestinal events such as diarrhea, vomiting or abdominal pain. No patient discontinued the study because of treatment related side effects. In this study, a 3 day course (10mg/kg/day one dose per day) of Azithromycin dry syrup approved to have acceptable efficacy, safety and tolerability.
