A Study on the Relationship between Feeding Method and Occurance of Disease in admitted Children on General Hospital


Abstract
The nutrition in early life of a man has been known to have much influence on both his physical and mental growth.
The purpose of this study is observation of relationship between of disease.
A staticstical study was done on the feeding type of 275 children who had admitted patient Chungnam National University Hospital from March 1 to December 31, 1984.
The results were as follow :
1. Total number of Patients were 275, of which male was 57.1%, female was 42.9%.
On age distribution, the largest number of children were 6-12years with 26.2%, less 1 month was 6.9%.
2. On delivery method, hospital delivery was 52.7%, and home delivery was 46.2%.
On birth weight,3.0-3.4kg was 22.95, and the next was 3.5-3.9k9 with 18.5%.
3. The largest number of birth order was first with 43.3%, and the next was second 30.9% third 13.8%.
The largest number of sittings was two with 35.3% and above four with 18.5%,
4. The largest number of mother¡¤ s educational level was high school with 29.4% and illiterate was 4.0%.
24.4% of father¢¥s occupation was company employee, while 80.0% of mother¢¥s was housewife.
5. On feeding method, breast feeding was 44.4%, bottle feeding was 20.0% and mixed feeding was 9.1%
