Abstract

In recent years, as it has become easy to obtain very fine and large diffraction gratings, the application of moire¢¥fringe to measure fine length measurements has been markedly developed, and this is expected to become a powerful means for precision metrology. By the Optical system the intensity distribution of the moire¢¥ fringe is obseraed in an Oscilloscope through a multiplier photube, and the shapes and visibilities of the fringes can be in vestigated.
In measuring a length, the system works as a moire¢¥fringe pulse counting system in which the reading head (scale grating) moves in parallel with the fixed index grating.
The entire optical-electrical system developed in the present work is found by very attractive for any precision length measurement.
