Orthopantomographic Study on the Position and Angulation of Mandibular Third Molars

Abstract
Anthropologically the mandibular 3rd molar in the process of degeneration has highed the congenital missing than the other teeth and much unperfect eruption that cause incomplete masticatory function well in main function of teeth and sometimes
it
has
gone to pericoronitis and pathogenic reasons of or disease.
An author examined angulation. Height, width, distribution of left and right mandibular third molar, distribution of age and dental caries occurrence rates of mandibular second molar due to mandibular 3rd molar angulation on the orthopantomogram
among
sample survey 103 of men patients, 98 of women patients who had been taken X-ray by orthopantomogram.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1). Angulation of the mandibular 3rd molar was in the order of mesioangulation(39.3%), Horizontal angulation(29.3%), Vertical angulation (26.4%), Distoangulation(3.5%), Inverted angulation(1.5%).
2) Height of the mandibular 3rd molar showed in the order of Group III (52.7%), Group II (38.3%), Group I (4.5%), Group IV (3.5%), Group V(0%).
3) Width of the mandibular 3rd molar appeared in the order of Group II (54.7%), Group I (36.3%), Group III (9.0%).
4) the right and left side distribution of the mandibular 3rd molar had much the side of only right than left
5) the each age distribution of the mandibular 3rd molar was in the order of Group III (35.3%), group IV (25.9%), Group V(15.9%), Group VI (11.4%), Group II (10.5%), Group I (1.0%) and 61.2 percent of total was in the twenties.
6) Dental caries occurrence rate of mandibular second molar due to mandibular 3rd molar angulation was in the order of Group II (47.7%), group III (40.9%), Group I (11.4%), Group IV and Group V (0%).
