Abstract

|
|
This review present an overview of what is known about age- and dietary restriction-induced alterations in gene expression at the nRNA level. The first part covers general aspects of gene expression, such as DNA methylation, RNA polymerases, polyadenylation and alternative splicing. The second section details changes in specific genes including neurological modulators, hormones and hormone responsive genes, free radical scavenging enzymes, other enzymes involved in cellular defense, mitochondrial genes and transcription factors.
