Effects of Aluminum compound Administration on the Aluminum Contents in various Tissues of Rat

Abstract

|
Administration effects aluminum compounds such as aluminum chloride aluminum sulfate on aluminum levels in various tissues of Spargeu-Dawley male rats for 2 weeks were investigated. SD rat fed basic diet(Samyang Diet Co.) with control group(water only), aluminum chloride group(250 ppm; 500 ppm in water), and aluminum sulfate groups(250 ppm; 500 ppm in water) for 2 weeks. the body weight gain was increased by the administration of aluminum chloride but decreased by the administration of aluminum sulfate as compared to the control. Aluminum levels in various tissues of rats were remarkably higher in aluminum sulfate groups than in aluminum chloride groups compared with control group. Aluminum levels in liver, brain, lung and bone were also significantly increased by administration of aluminum compounds. As a result of above experiment, we can find out that there were a rise of serum aluminum concentration and aluminum accumulation in various body tissues, by increase of aluminum consumption in experimental animals, therefore aluminum will be one of causes evoking various disease. In our nation, consumption of food containing aluminum tend to increase. However, study about toxicity of aluminum is not much, so I choose this subject and insist on continual study of this.
