Abstract

|
Traumatic lung pseudocyst is an uncommon complication of lung injury due to closed chest trauma than pulmonary contusion or intrapulmonary hematoma.
Roentgenographically traumatic pseudocysts appear as single or multiple, unilocular or multilocular cystic lesions with or without air-filled level.
The lesion may be confused with traumatic diaphragmatic rupture, congenital cystic lung malformation. loculated hemopneumothorax or other cavitary lung lesion.
The authors illustrate two patients in whom lung psudeocysts were seen on chest radiograph and computed tomography taken on within hours of injury.
