Abstract

The Ex-Utero Intrapartum Treatment (EXIT) is a procedure that secures the airway in fetus with upper airway obstruction. Congenital high airway obstruction syndrome (CHAOS) is a blockage of the fetal trachea or larynx due to narrowing of the airway (stenosis), a web-like membrane, or even an area of the trachea that is missing (atresia). If it was not adequately diagnosed and managed in prenatal evaluation, infant would not survive after birth. We present a case of CHAOS, which was treated successfully by the EXIT procedure during the delivery.
