Ischemic Complications due to Celiac Artery Stenosis after Pancreaticoduodenectomy
Choi Han-Lim

Choi Jae-Woon
Abstract
In general, celiac artery stenosis is clinically silent and insignificant, because of the collaterals between the celiac artery and superior mesenteric artery. But in patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy, celiac stenosis can result in serious ischemic complications because of abrupt collateral damage. So, before surgery full radiologic evaluation of the distribution and collaterals of blood vessels should be done and surgeons have to check the patency of blood vessels during surgery. We present a patient with ischemic complications, who had diagnosed a slight narrowing of the celiac artery before surgery. Althogh we had checked vascular patency during surgery, ischemic complications ocurred in the live and auastomosi in sites.
