Abstract
|

|
Imperforated hymen is a rare congenital malformation, but it can lead to many complications such as hematocolpometra. In most cases, definite finding is noticed after menarche as retention of menstrual flow, causing abdominal pain and voiding difficulty. A case of 12-year old female having imperforated hymen associated with hematocolpometra was successfully treated by cruciate incision of hymen and draining about 700 mL of tarry blood under regional anesthesia. Thus, I present a case of imperforated hymen with a brief review of literature.
