Cutaneous metastasis from the lung cancer is rare. Generally, cancer can make metastasis to other organs including the skin. Thus, lung cancer, which spreads to brain, bone, liver and adrenal glands, is responsible for the majority of skin
metastases in
men. In several studies of the lung cancer, the incidence rate of cutaneous metastasis has been reported to vary from 1 to 12% in the patient with lung cancer.
However, it doesn't seem to be reported in Korea. Such as all other metastatic lesions to distant sites, skin metastasis reflect the progression of the primary lung malignancy and can be a premonitory sign of fatal outcome.
Thus physicians should recognize its significance. We experienced a case of lung cancer with skin metastasis to anterior chest.
