|
Strengths assessment is an element of empowerment practice. It is important for building rapport and goal setting as the first phase of intervention. This study examines the application process of the strengths assessment in the empowerment practice. An action research was implemented to reflect the context of the overcome difficulties of the strengths assessment application process in the empowerment practice. The finding is that participating education, strengths assessment tool application, speed control, taking enough time, change of service provider’s perspective in the beginning, and facilitation and stimulation for consumers, waiting, change of conversation, change of recording, change of service structure and system based on the consumer’s individual goal in the active application period of the strengths assessment. This process is the spiral developmental process through continuous reflection and the culture change process of the agency.
