Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to examine the factor structure of the 11-item Korean version of the CES-D scale used in the Korea Welfare Panel Study and to test its measurement invariance over gender as well as age groups. The study sample consisted of 10609 adults who answered 11 items of CES-D scale from the 1st wave to the 3rd wave of the Korea Welfare Panel Study. The data was extracted from he 1st wave of the Korea Welfare Panel Study and was analyzed using a confirmatory factor analysis and a multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis. The study findings show that the 11-item Korean version of the CES-D scale fits well to a 4 factor model and that its 4 factor model are invariant across gender as well as age groups. The implications of this study findings are discussed.
