Studies on Treatment of Tardive Dyskinesis


Abstract
Apomorphine, 2 stimulent of central dopaminergic receptor systems given in low dose, was administered to 10 male chroninic schizophrenics with active symptoms of tardive dyskinesia 2nd 15 control group in order to evaluate therapeutic efficacy of apomorphine. Dosage of trial was 0.75 mg and was administered by per cutaneous route. The results were as follows:
1. Apomorphine gave no significnat changes on the symptomatology of tardive dyskinesia as measured by AIMS (Abnormal-Involun
tary Movement Scale).
2. With all negative findings mentioned above, apomorphine did supress plasma prolactin levels in both tardive dyskinesia group and control group.
