Study of calvarial thicking after Dilantin medication


Abstract
The toxicity of anticonvulsant durgs (Dilantin) is not only calvarial thickening but also be changed of the nervous system including mental symptoms, the hemopoietic system, the skeletal system, the skin with connective tissue, the liver, the endocrine system, immunological disorder and other metabolic disorders.
Treatment which is life long, potentially harmful and influenced by so many factors, known and unknown, needs constant supervision. With increasing awareness and understanding of chronic effects, and the regular use of durgs level and other metabolic markers, it should be possible to improve therapeutic efficiency and better balance between the disease and the complication of therapy.
