A Study on Ego Function in Psychiatric Pastients

Abstract
To summarize the results, the factor structure of ego function was common to abnormal as well as normal group, the concept of each function was valid and the ego function model had diagnostic discriminating power of the groups.
The limitation of this study was following;
The appropriateness of the task to test the conceptual appropriateness was partly questionable.
Furthermore, this-study did not deal with the relations-between the intrapsychic systems, The terminology of ego function was not defined with fully elaborate operational definitions, Further study is needed to divide the dysfunction level¢¥in the rating criteria with psychological tests more elaborately. It is tentatively concluded that the ego function model is a comprehensive and objective theoretical approach to evaluate human behavior both normal and abnormal.
