Tardive dyskinesia and Affective Disorder

Abstract
Recent clinical observations suggested that neuroleptic treated patients who suffer either from affective disorders
or have significant affective component in their psychotic illness may be at increased risk for developing tardive dyskinesia.
1. Reported prevalance rates of TD in affective disorder. is about 30-83%.
2, TD was noticed at high risk in patient with affective 4i-corder and occurred in relatively brief (3 years) duration of neuroleptic treatment.
3. -Lithium was be benefit for patient of depression and dyskinesia.
4. Neuroleptc use for most of patient with affective disorder was. be permitted: for limited period.
