Abstract

Commonly used embolic agents during angiographic embolization of gastrointestinal bleeding are gelatin sponge (Gelfoam), embolization coils such as microcoil, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and recently embolization glue. We report three cases with acute gastrointestinal bleeding, which were difficult to use such embolization materials, and treated with temporary intraarterial balloon occlusion by successful occlusion of feeding arteries.
