Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of script intervention on verbal communications by a preschooler with autism spectrum disorder. One male preschool student diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder participated in this study. A multiple probe design across settings was employed to identify a potential relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The independent variable of this study was the implementation of the script intervention which consisted of 10-min repetitive instruction and role play sessions. The dependent variable was the number of participant¡¯s verbal communications during target settings: free play and outside recess. The results depicts that the script intervention would be effective to increase the frequency of verbal communications of a student with ASD.
