A Literature Review of Nutritional Ergogenics for the Improvement of Exercise Performance in the Treatment of Obesity

Abstract
Objectives: Several nutritional Ergogenics are using for obesity and sports. The purpose of this investigation is to study the efficacy and mechanism of nutritional ergogenics for the treatment of obesity and the improvement of exercise performance.

Methods: I had researched various sources, such as medical journals and books, medical text books, and Medline searchs to describe the efficacy and mechanism of nutritional ergogenics(Panax ginseng, Eleutherococcus senticosus, Ephedra sinica, Citrus aurantium, Evodia rutaecarpa, Tribulus terrestris, L-Carnitine, Caffeine, Capsaicin. Garsinia canbogia, Conjugated linoleic acid, Chitosan, Green tea, Salix matsudana, Lagerstroemia speciosa pars, Cassia nomame, Salacia reticulata, Momordica charantia Linn) for the treatment of obesity and the improvement of exercise performance.

Results and Conclusions:
1. Panax ginseng, Eleutherococcus senticosus, L-Carnitine, caffeine function the improvement of aerobic exercise performance.
2. Panax ginseng, caffeine, Tribulus terrestris function the improvement of nonaerobic exercise performance.
3. Garsinia canbogia, caffeine function as energy intake inhibitors.
4. Chitosan, Salix matsudana and Cassia nomame function as lipid absorption inhibitors.
5. Ephedra sinica, Citrus aurantium, conjugated linoleic acid, capsaicin, Evodia rutaecarpa, green tea and Momordica charantia Linn function as energy expenditure accelerators.
6. L-Carnitine, hydroxycitric acid, conjugated linoleic acid, caffeine, chitosan, Salix matsudana, Lagerstroemia speciosa pars, Hippocrateaceae and Momordica charantia Linn function as fat mobilization accelerators.
