Abstract

Intracerebral hemorrhage following carotid artery angioplasty and stenting (CAS) is rare but often leads to fatal and devastating consequences. However, there are a few reports of subarachnoid hemorrhage after carotid stenting, and
its causes are also unclear. We report a patient developed subarachnoid hemorrhage 4 weeks after CAS, initially resenting mild headache. This case vignette suggests that watchful observation for possible hemorrhagic complication should be continued up to 4 weeks following carotid artery stenting in a certain circumstance.
