Abstract

|
|
The knee joint is one of the most functionally mobile joints during athletic activities as well as activities of daily living. Overuse or external stress factors of the knee joint are common, which can cause frequent injury and reinjury. Therapeutic exercise is an essential aspect of treatment and rehabilitation after injury. It must be initiated immediately after injury. Therapeutic exercise focuses on regaining flexibility, strength, power proprioception, balance, and cardiovascular performance. Development of such therapeutic exercise programs must take into consideration factors such as exercise progression, intensity and repetition to achieve successful return to activity.
