|
Superficial thrombophlebitis is considered as a benign and self limiting disease caused by inflammation and thrombosis of the superficial veins. However, it sometimes associates with deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. Treatment options are variable and controversial as clinical severity and the involved location are different. We purposed to review recent data on diagnosis and treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis.
