A Study on the Effects of the Supported Employment System on Employers¡¯ Satisfaction with Employees -Focused on Mentally Retarded Employees-


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of the supported employment system on employers¡¯ satisfaction with employees and thereby, suggest the ways to enhance their satisfaction with employees, while exploring the multi-faceted ways to stabilize and activate employment of the mentally retarded people. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, as a result of regression analysis for the effects of job-related factors on employers¡¯ satisfaction with employees, it was found that job performance and working attitude had effects on employers¡¯ satisfaction. In other words, the better the handicapped employees¡¯ job performance and working attitude were, their employers were more satisfied with them. Second, as a result of regression analysis for the effects of socio-environmental factors on employers¡¯ satisfaction, it was found that colleagues¡¯ and family members¡¯ supports had some significant effects on employers¡¯ satisfaction with handicapped employees. Namely, the more the colleagues understood handicapped people and the more the family members were concerned about them, employers were more satisfied with their handicapped employees. Third, as a result of analyzing the effects of Employment supporting system factors on employers¡¯ satisfaction and as a result of T-test and regression analysis for differences between those companies subsidized and those not subsidized, it was found that such factors or subsidies had not significant effects on employers¡¯ satisfaction. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the effects of each factor on employers¡¯ satisfaction by using Full Model and Reduced Model, it was found that such independent variables as job performance (P<0.001), working attitude (P<0.001) and colleagues¡¯ support (P<0.01) had significant effects on employers¡¯ satisfaction with their handicapped employees.
