The correlation between occupational categories of training and employment made up in school of mental retardation

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between occupational categories of training and employment made up in school of mental retardation. For this purpose, vocational education course of 44 schools of mental retardation was analysed, and then the percentage of concordance between occupational categories of training and employment was determine. The results were following; First, occupational categories of training made up in school of mental retardation were 46, and order of this categories was assembly (77.3%), wood art (72.7%), ceramic art (70.5%), cultivation of flowering and crops (59.1%), cooking (59.1%), home-fashion (52.3%), cleaning (50.0%), computer ((47.7%), housework (38.6%), packing (36.4%); Second, the percentage of concordance was 44.9% between occupational categories of training and employment made up in school of mental retardation.There were a few and narrow occupational categories of training made up in school of mental retardation. In addition to the percentage of concordance was low between occupational categories of training and employment. It suggest that occupational categories of training made up in school of mental retardation should be diversified according to need of the present age and industry distribution of community based.
