Survey on community-based instruction and support needs of special education teachers in middle and high special schools over the country


Abstract
In this research, 269 special education teachers of middle and high special schools over the country are surveyed with questionnaires to collect basic data for community use skills instruction to students with disorder in korea. Plan, implementation, and assessment of community-based instruction, and necessity and support need of community-based instruction are listed in questionnaires. Survey results are 1) Link to IEP objective of students with disorder are not enough when community-based instruction are planed. 2) ecological assessment are actively practiced for prior and post assessment of community-based instruction. 3) class-based instruction are actively practiced before community-based instruction.4) instruction strategies that is important to community-based instruction are actively practiced, but visual prompt is not used enough. 5) Instruction for use of money in community are not enough. Every teacher gives positive response to needs and effectiveness of community-based instruction, but their biggest inquiry are staffs and financial supports for the community-based instruction. The research is meaningful because it surveyed specifically community-based instruction in middle and high special school and special education teachers¡¯ support needs, and then proposed basic data for model development.
