A Qualitative Study on the Characteristics of the Employer"s Decision of Returning to Work for Injured Workers

Abstract
This research was conducted to investigate characteristics of the employers who determined for their injured workers to return to work. The current researcher interviewed six employers who have experienced to re-employ their injured workers and six employers who have not. Employers" employment experience and decision making procedures were analyzed based on the return-to-work policy and their injured workers.
The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, The experience working with the general-disabled is not affect that the injured workers return to job retention. And Employer did not improvement of job-environment for injured workers. Second, Employers did not receive any information about the course of treatment and recovery period of injured workers. Third, Employers are favorable for injured workers, but worry about occurring second-industrial accident. Forth, Employers did not know about national policy and vocational rehabilitation services for injured workers.
