Abstract
This study, using phenomenological method, aims to deeply understand the lifetime adaptation about people with disabilities caused by industrial accidents. For this purpose, this study was conducted to find ¡®how were the processes of lifetime adaptation after industrial accidents?¡¯, by extracting the meanings of adaptation processes, and converting the extracted meanings with an academic language for qualitative study. The in-depth interviews were carried out from July to November, 2012 with the six industrial accident disabled who had consented to the participation in the study. Through the interview, 47 meaningful statements were obtained. These statements were classified into 11 themes and 4 paradigms. The 4 paradigms were ¡®unwelcoming situation thrown in my life¡¯, ¡®frustration in front of the wall which tied me up¡¯, ¡®various tries for lifetime adaptation¡¯, and ¡®living with the existence that is part of my life. ¡¯These four paradigms were ultimately concluded as one core category; Reconstruction of the Life; Based on the study results, some suggestions were made how to help the industrial accident disabled adapt themselves better.
