Study on Emotional Labor and Coordinators¡®s Social Support of Personal Assistants affecting Turnover Intention and Mediation Effect of Job stress

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to suggest political and practical implications for diminishing the intent to leave of personal assistants, through examining the mediating effect of job stress among emotional labor, social support and the intent to leave. The survey was conducted upon 600 personal assistants of 6 social work institutions in Daejeon, Chungnam, the Seoul-Incheon district and Ulsan. Structural Equation Model analysis was employed for mediating effect using Amos 18.0. The analysis results revealed that emotional labor and social support of coordinators had a significant effect on the intent to leave directly and indirectly through job stress. Through these findings, implication related with practice and policy were suggested for diminishing the intent to leave of personal assistants.
