Awareness of Preparative Assistive Technology Professionals about AAC Service

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide a more systematic support direction for AAC users and providers. To accomplish this purpose, A survey was conducted of 122 preparative assistive technology professionals receiving training to identify the experience and awareness of AAC services that support communication problems. SPSS 22.0 was used for the data analysis of data, the results of the study are as follows. First, the level of training and use experience of the preparative assistive technology professionals about AAC was low, and the overall AAC service awareness of preparative assistive technology professionals showed a higher average than those without experience about education and experience related to AAC. Second, there was a significant difference in the presence of using AAC experience regarding their general awareness of the understanding and interests on AAC. Awareness about AAC services¡¯s needs and effectiveness was higher than the level of understanding and interest for AAC services. Third, preparative assistive technology professionals said that the demand for AAC services will be high in the future, and the devices based on engineering will be centered.

Conclusion: This study will provide the delivery system for the AAC service and provide basic data for efficient support directions.
