The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences of job satisfaction level according to the types of return-to-work (RTW) of the injured workers and to suggest strategies to improve the RTW rates. The subjects of this study were 1,343 injured workers who succeeded in returning to the workplace at the 4th wave of the Panel Study of Worker¡¯s Compensation Insurance (PSWCI). Using frequency, descriptive, and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) methods, the collected data was analyzed. As a result, it was found that a group with returning to the original workplace had higher job satisfaction level (i.e., wage/income, job security, job duty, working environment, working hours, potential personal growth, communication/ interpersonal relationship) compared to other groups. Based on this study results, implications and suggestions for improving job satisfaction level of injured workers after RTW are following. First, an institutional supplementary system would be developed that employers must offer to re-employ injured workers after completing care. Second, follow-up services would be provided to cope with potential employment-related problems for injured workers. Third, opportunities for re-employment or strategies for maintaining their business would be provided for injured workers who chose self-employment.
