Cognition on Unmarried Women with Spinal Cord Injury : A Qualitative Case Study

Abstract
This study aims at comparing marriage cognition before and after the disability of unmarried women who suffer from spinal cord injury, and seeks to depth research of marriage cognition after suffering. To this end, 5 unmarried women who suffer from spinal cord injury in their twenties were participated in the study. The data was collected through the person to person in-depth interview with participants and recordings with interview notes were used to analyze participants after the interview. Communal topics were analyzed by selecting meaningful contents from words sentences and paragraphs, creating sub-topics. Analyzing results are categorized into ¡®hardship as women¡¯, ¡®difficulty of meeting¡¯, ¡®difficulty of relationship¡¯, ¡®change in marriage cognition¡¯, ¡®family opposition about marriage¡¯, and ¡®expected role¡¯. For positive marriage cognition of unmarried women who suffer spinal cord injury, supporting measures are discussed with the results. This study about marriage cognition of unmarried women who suffer spinal cord injury is anticipated as a meaningful base data for relative study.
