Impact of day-care service satisfaction for persons with developmental disabilities on their family strengths

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to study how satisfaction with the use of day care services for people with developmental disabilities affects their family strengths. This study surveyed 132 parents of children and families with developmental disabilities who have either experienced or used day care services. Technical statistical analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted to derive the results of the research. The results showed that, first of all, the satisfaction with using day care services for children with developmental disabilities was more than average score. Second, it was found that the satisfaction of use of day care services had an positive (+) effect on cohesiveness in the strengths. of the family. Third, it was found that the type of disability has an affective influence on the adaptability of the family, especially the families of autistic children have a high family adaptability. In addition, the scores of children with developmental disabilities were slightly higher than those of children with basic ability to carry out daily life.
