The Impact of Strengths-Based Group Counselling Program on Resilience and Job search Efficacy of Injured Workers

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of injured worker¡¯s resilience and job search efficacy having strengths-based group counselling program. Candidata from Seoul, Gangseo-gu injured workers, the experimental group of 11, and the control group of 11 total of 22 injured workers. The program used for this study were based on previous strengths-based group counselling program for injured workers, such as Korea Workers Compensation and Welfare Service in Hope search program. With the help of 3 psychological counselor¡¯s feedback were able to revised and updated. The program consisted 8 sessions, each session lasted 120 minutes and researcher myself conducted the program. Resilience scale and Job search Efficacy scale were used to analyze to prove the effectiveness of the program. For data analysis SPSS 23.0 program were applied and with frequency analysis, it verifie general individuality. To identify the influence of resilience and job search efficacy, experimental and control group¡¯s pre and post specimen experiment had been tested by the Mann-Whitey test. The difference in pre- and post-mortem test scores of each variable in the group was performed by Wilcoxon signed-rank test.
The finding of the study were as follows: First, the experimental group of the injured workers who participated in the strengths-based group counselling program showed more significant improvement in resilience than the control group that didn¡¯t. Second, he experimental group of the injured workers who participated in the strengths-based group counselling program showed more significant improvement in job search efficacy than the control group that didn¡¯t. The study proved that strengths-based group counselling program help enhancing injured worker¡¯s resilience and job search efficacy. Therefore, this research is meaningful in that the effectiveness of collective was verified for middle-aged people and positive psychology was applied to industrial workers who suffered industrial accidents. It is also meaningful that this study is highly practical by organizing the program contents considering the psychological characteristics of the industrial worker and the actual approach was made through emotional and psychological exploration.
