Abstract
In order to solve the problem of short working life of people with developmental disability, this study empirically analyzed the factors affecting the working life of wage-earners with developmental disabilities using the ¡®2021 Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(2nd Wave 6th Survey)¡¯ of the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The research subjects were 109 people with developmental disabilities in wage employment, and the research methods were frequency analysis, correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. According to the research result, the average tenure of wage workers with developmental disabilities is 61.94 months, and the factors affecting tenure are age, full-time employment, aptitude match, and a specially designed job for the disabled.
This result showed that wage workers with developmental disabilities are more likely to stay in their current job for a longer period of time if they are older, have full-time employment, have an aptitude match, and work in a specially designed job for the disabled. Therefore, it needs to institutionalize job retention services and job development for workers with developmental disabilities, and the expansion of standard workplaces for the disabled is needed nationwide.
