Abstract

Objectives: This study investigated the effects of nunchi and grit on college adjustment among nursing students.
Methods: The sample comprised of 233 nursing students from four nursing departments. Data were collected through self-directed questionnaires and analyzed using t-tests, Pearson¡¯s correlation coefficients, and multiple regression.
Results: A positive correlation was observed between college adjustment and grit (r=.690, p<.001), and nunchi (r=.515, p<.001). College adjustment showed differences based on grade, decision maker, motivation for selecting a nursing major, residence type, practical experience, and satisfaction with a major. The significant factors of grit and satisfaction with a major explained 57.0% of the variance in college adjustment.
Conclusions: This study suggests that it is imperative to develop programs that include positive factors, such as grit and satisfaction with a major, for nursing students¡¯ college adjustment.
