Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of cognitive exercise therapy on visual attention and motor ability of children with developmental disabilities.

Methods: This research was executed on six-year-old children with developmental disorder. The experiment was single subject design, there were four baseline sessions and eight intervention session. During the baseline session, the sensory integration program was applied for 40 minutes, and during the intervention session, cognitive therapeutic exercise was applied for 40 minutes. The Korean-Developmental Test of Visual Perception-2 was used as the pre-test and post-test. A star cancellation examination was carried out to assess visual attentiveness, and the Box and Block Test to assess exercise ability.

Results: The visual attentiveness examination and exercise ability examination showed better results in the intervention session than in the baseline session. In the visual attentiveness examination, results increase to 9.13 in the intervention session from 4.75 in the baseline session. In the exercise ability examination, in the baseline session the average was 11.50 in the right and 14.35 in the left, but this increased to 20.63 in the right and 24.50 in the left on average.

Conclusion: The results showed that cognitive exercise therapy positively affected visual attention and motor ability of children with developmental disabilities.
