The Adequacy of Montreal Cognitive Assessment for Stroke Patients Cognitive Disorder

MoCA-K is an assessment of patients with stroke cognitive impairment screening that evaluates the appropriate amount. This study was conducted in June 2011. There were 13 stroke patients who admitted to the A Hospital in Gyeonggi-do. However, MMSE-K with the rating of 18 points less than the pre-test subjects was excluded. At random, MoCA-K evaluation and LOTCA evaluation were conducted. Based on the evaluation results, data were analyzed by using SPSS 18.0. MMSE-K evaluated the suspected damages in the group of partients and MoCA-K evaluated again of 8 patients showed that mild cognitive impairment has 4 in amount of 5 persons in the group showing normal of MMSE-K. MMSE-K rating divided into normal and cognitive impairment group. Also, MoCA-K rating with mild cognitive disorders subdivided into whether the group divided difference score for each group, LOTCA was use to compared. MoCA-K and MMSE-K ratings are higher, the rating of LOTCA also increased. the findings LOTCA rating did not differ between the tended groups. MoCA-K is a cognitive assessment tool that shows a correlation with MMSE-K. Hence, MoCA-K can be used as an effective cognitive assessment tool for stroke patients.
