Kim Joo-Hee

Jang Seung-Hun
Abstract
Trimebutine is a spasmolytic agent that regulates intestinal and colonic motility and relieves abdominal pain with antimuscarinic and weak mu-opioid agonist effects. It has been commonly used for the treatment of irritable bowe
syndrome and other gastrointestinal tract motility disorders. The adverse reactions of trimebutine are mostly mild to moderate nature, however, hypersensitivity reactions are rarely reported. We experienced the case of anaphylaxis induced
by trimebutine maleate, which was confirmed by an oral provocation test.
