A Study on Development of Batch-Service by Participation of People Bereaved by Suicide

Abstract
Objective£ºThis study is a basic data to actively investigate the direction of batch-service for the people bereaved by suicide based on their participation and desire.

Method : This study had been carried out with 4 hour FGI(Focus Group Interview) from 14:00 to 18:00 on September 26th, 2014. There were 14 people in the interview: 7 people bereaved by suicide, and 7 people from the Seoul Suicide Prevention Center for progress, observation, and recording. It was a semi-open interview; the host asked the participants the basic questions already prepared, but also added other questions in case of need. Result : People bereaved by suicide suffer terribly; therefore, the self-help group program is very important and significant for them to deal with their psychological distress. It is necessary to diversify the types of group by their emotional and psychological condition and desire. This study agrees to end the self-help group for people bereaved by suicide and create the various small groups by individual peculiarities. It also suggests to establish the various meetings for various characteristics of the bereaved such as relationship with suicide, emotional condition, and time of loss instead of the existing ones. The necessity of ¡®voluntary service¡¯by the recovered bereaved also comes forward to help the recovery of the unrecovered bereaved.
