Studies on the Typing of Staphylococcus aureus by Antibiogram , PFGE and RAPD Analysis

Abstract

|
Studies on the typing of Staphylococcus aureus isolates and standard strains were conducted. Antibiogram pattern of 27 isolates could be typed to 7 types and pulsed field gel electrophoretogram patterns of 54 isolates were typed to 22 types. These results indicated that PFGE method had a good typeability and discriminatory power in genotyping of Staphylococcus aureus.
Similar degree of typeability, discriminatory power and reproducibility with PFGE in RAPD using primer(AGCAGCGTGG) showed in the experiments utilizing 13 Staphylococcus aureus reference strains.
