Purpose: In radiofrequency ablation of hepatocellular cancer therapeutics and to compare the therapeutic area of more parties designed to broaden 15Gage internal cooled electrode and 17Gage Cool Wet-tip electrode area for the treatment of tumors.
Materials and Methods: Primary hepatocellular carcinoma in the size of one of the lesions and tumors of patients who underwent radiofrequency therapeutics or less 3Cm, 1 conference in patients with ablation therapy in patients who underwent 15G 17G CWT internal cooled electrode and electrode 62 people each (mean age; 61 years, range; 44-87 years) were included in this study. Measurement of ablation lesions were observed after treatment CT images obtained by measuring only the enhancement is not completely necrotic tissue was obtained from the image volume.
Results: The area of the tumor after radiofrequency ablation therapy therapeutics are CWT is 17.26 ¡¾ 6.02 in the treatment area was larger than 15G ratio before and after treatment was 581.85 ¡¾ 339.56 CWT has got a big show after radiofrequency electrode 15G therapeutics in the treatment toward the CWT electrode area wide as shown. CWT was the treatment area per electrode is 1.34 times higher than 15G, the treatment area before and after treatment were higher proportion of CWT is 1.001 times higher than 15G.
Conclusion: The size of the treatment area with high frequency CWT electrode was found to be wider than using cautery electrodes 15G internal cooling. In general, tumors stable annual safety (Safety margin) for the case that the tenancy, since there will be more than once a CWT-type electrode to create a larger ablation lesions and reduced the number of residual tumor ablation reduces the relapse reduction, reduction of time and cautery because it reduces the re-treatment is considered to be useful in decreasing pain patients face.
