Factors affecting the students¡¯s online class satisfaction in departmen of physical therapy: Focusing on the COVID-19 situation

Abstract

|
Objective: This study is a descriptive study to confirm the relationship between class satisfaction of the college students who are majored in physical therapy and teaching presence, academic self- efficacy, self-directed learning and to identify factors that influence class satisfaction.
Method: The study subjects were 139 college students, and the collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 20.0 program.
Results: The study showed that the subjects teaching presence was 3.99 points, academic self-efficacy was 3.08 points, self-directed learning was 3.39 points and class satisfaction was 3.45 points. There was a significant positive correlation between class satisfaction and teaching presence (r=.55, p<.001), academic self-efficacy (r=.62, p<.001), self-directed learning (r=.63, p<.001). The factors affecting to class satisfaction of college students were teaching presence, academic self-efficacy, self-directed learning and the explanatory power was 52.0 %.
Conclusion: To increase class satisfaction, it is necessary to apply a strategic teaching method to enhance a teaching presence, academic self-efficacy and self-directed learning.
