Abstract
Visual defect or decreased visual acuity are common in stroke patients (~10%). It can directly impair the blood supply irrigating the retina or optic nerve, otherwise involve the afferent visual pathway in the brain. Since the clinical syndromes are distinct according to the site of lesion, careful evaluation of the afferent visual system can guide the diagnosis, as well as fastening the treatment.
