Effects of Adolescent¡¯s Attachment to Teachers?Peers?Mother, Self-esteem, Depression on School Life Adjustment

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of attachment to teachers?peers?mother, self-esteem, depression on school life adjustment among adolescents. The subject were 587 high school students. All respondents answered by self-report questionnaires. The questionnaires included self-esteem scale, depression scale, IPPA. Data were analyzed by ANOVA, t-test, and multiple regression. Correlation analysis showed that school life adjustment was positively correlated to attachment to teachers?peers?mother, self-esteem and negatively correlated to depression. The high school students who show high level of school life adjustment displayed higher self-esteem, higher attachment to teachers?peers?mother and lower depression. Results of the multiple regression analyses showed that attachment to teachers?peers?mother, self-esteem, depression on school life adjustment turned out to be significant variables on the school life adjustment.
