Abstract

|
The study presents a case of sandplay therapy for a young man. Although he is 34 years old, he has difficulty in active living due to his being overly self-conscious, general feebleness and a lack of confidence. Based on our knowledege of ¡®puer aeternus¡¯, his characters are similar with this ¡®puer aeternus¡¯. He is unduly dependent on his mother. He shows the typical style of the ¡®puer aeternus¡¯. His problems are attributed to a negative mother complex. To overcome his apparent Mother Complex, he needs a greater balance between his conscious and unconscious. This case is clearly one of Jungian individuation. It is expected that sandplay therapy can help him to achieve greater individuation.
